Job Summary

This position contributes to Sun Tan City’s success by leading a team to create and maintain an exceptional client experience. The Salon Director manages the overall operation of the salon, including supervising staff, making staffing decisions, ensuring client satisfaction, monitoring staff performance, handling maintenance issues, ensuring cleanliness, and managing safety and security. The role requires modeling Sun Tan City principles to deliver outstanding service.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Developing and coaching employees to provide excellent client experiences.
  • Addressing client concerns promptly.
  • Maintaining a calm and positive demeanor during busy periods.
  • Ensuring a client-first attitude and holding team accountable for service quality.
  • Driving company metrics through action plans and staff motivation.
  • Promoting the culture, values, and mission of Sun Tan City with integrity and honesty.
  • Delegating responsibilities for smooth operations.
  • Maintaining salon cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
  • Managing staffing levels for employee development and operational needs.
  • Adhering to wage and hour laws for non-exempt employees and minors.
  • Using operational tools to achieve excellence, including labor guidelines, reports, cash, and inventory management.
  • Analyzing financial reports to identify performance trends and issues.
  • Conducting performance assessments and setting goals to improve sales.
  • Managing ongoing sales efforts.
  • Working a minimum of 5 days per week, totaling 40 hours, with varying shifts based on business needs.
Experience:
  • College education preferred but not required.
  • Management and/or sales experience required.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Effective management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong client service knowledge and operational practices.
  • Problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Leadership skills with coaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Team building skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to bend at the waist for cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to lift or assist with lifting heavy items.
  • Ability to bend down to pick up items from the floor.
  • Ability to perform cleaning functions such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
