Job summary

Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay is seeking a Retail Store Manager in Training to complete a comprehensive program at one of our training locations and prepare for a Store Manager role with full store responsibility.

The MIT program develops hands-on leadership in all aspects of retail operations, including policy adherence, operations, and management techniques, with a view to transitioning into a full-time Store Manager position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ work experience in retail management, preferably thrift.
• One year of customer service experience.
• Understanding of financial metrics, reporting, and budget management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to pass a background check, as applicable.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.

Responsibilities

• People leadership and store operations, including financial management and inventory control.
• Coordinate with Retail District Manager to execute strategic plans.
• Ensure payroll and operating costs stay within budget.
• Maintain clean, well-kept store reflecting the Goodwill brand.
• Develop partnerships with community businesses to promote Goodwill.
• Provide training and development for Team Members.
• Maintain regular in-person attendance.
