Job summary

Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay seeks a Retail Store Manager in Training to complete an extensive program through hands-on experience in store operations. The MIT will rotate through key roles and training to prepare for full store leadership, including managing staff and donor/customer success.

Post-program, the MIT will lead a store, overseeing production, budgeting, inventory, and community partnerships to advance Goodwill’s mission. Strong leadership and retail experience are required.

Qualifications

• Two years’ work experience in retail management, preferably thrift.
• Customer service experience and ability to pass a background check.
• Understanding of financial metrics, reporting and budget management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes retail operations plan to achieve goals for income, revenue and production.
• Coordinates with Retail District Manager on strategic plans to drive donations.
• Monitors product levels daily to meet sales targets and budget.
• Controls payroll and operating costs to stay within budget.
• Leads and trains Team Members, Donation Attendants, and production staff.
• Ensures stores are clean, reflects the Goodwill brand, and serves donors/customers well.
• Partners with community organizations to promote Goodwill mission.
• Transfers to different stores as needed to meet business needs.
