Job summary

The Hibbett, Inc. in Dothan, Alabama is seeking a Manager in Training to support the Store Manager with daily store operations and exceptional customer service. You will become knowledgeable in each product area and help promote sales and promotions while maintaining store standards.

You will assume supervisory duties in the Store Manager’s absence, assist with inventory, merchandising, scheduling, and staff guidance to ensure profitability and a positive shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
• Team-player with a passion for outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assumes responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
• Be aware of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments.
• Direct staff to ensure each department’s responsibilities and standards are completed.
• Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Assure quality customer service is maintained.
• Perform general administrative duties and be trained in Store Manager’s responsibilities.
• Produce and provide extraordinary customer service highlighted in the customer service manual, including helping customers as they enter the store and during peak periods.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Uphold all company policies and procedures as listed in manuals and memos.
• Protect assets and financial information by ensuring internal controls and reporting potential fraud risk.
