Job summary

Dollar General Corporation in Corryton, TN seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory, stocking and receiving, and store needs. This role develops external candidates for the Store Manager path and is held for a limited period.

Key duties include assisting in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, and cash handling while upholding company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Ability to interpret safety rules and procedures; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking per policy and manager direction.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
