Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily operations in a fast-paced retail environment. You will oversee staffing, training, inventory, cash control, and customer service to ensure store targets are met.

Responsibilities include open/close procedures, merchandising execution, safety compliance, and team development while maintaining a clean, welcoming store and strong community relations.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret diagrams and procedures.
• Perform basic math calculations and percentages.
• Cash handling and deposit control.
• Operate IBM cash registers to generate reports.
• Inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Recruiting, interviewing and hiring practices including legal compliance.
• Cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure staffing.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations and counsel as needed.
• Recommend pay rates and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store; perform openings/closings twice weekly.
• Evaluate store performance, sales trends and inventory management.
• Review ordering plans and ensure in-stock targets.
• Staging, stocking and storage of merchandise following processes.
• Present merchandise per established practices with pricing and signage.
• Maintain accurate inventory; manage damages, markdowns and security.
• Ensure financial integrity via cash control and key management.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized store environment.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available to perform tasks.
• Follow SOPs and deadlines for paperwork and documentation.
