Job summary

Dollar Tree in Houston, Texas is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, improve customer service, and develop store team members. You will assist with everyday store functions, greet customers, and support the Store Manager in achieving store goals.

Role requires strong communication, ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and experience in retail management or as a supervisor. The position is part-time with opportunities for growth; a high school diploma or equivalent is

Qualifications

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
