Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear is seeking a Manager in Training in Edwardsville, IL. The role supports the Store Manager in daily operations, customer service excellence, and department leadership across all product areas. It’s a hands-on start toward Store Manager responsibilities and store performance goals.

You will gain knowledge in inventory, merchandising, scheduling, and promotions while promoting Hibbett I City Gear services and building lasting customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably footwear/apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative for important tasks.
• Strong attention to detail with multitasking capabilities.
• Team-player focused on outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling store assets.
• Help establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering and scheduling.
• Take store-wide responsibility in the Store Manager's absence.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales stats and expenses to support profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department standards are met and tasks completed.
• Keep Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Ensure quality customer service is maintained.
• Perform general administrative duties and learn Store Manager responsibilities.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and promote merchandise.
