Job summary

R.P. Lumber Co., Inc. in El Paso, IL, seeks a hands-on Retail Manager to lead showroom, yard, and back-office operations on-site. You will coach a team, maintain inventory accuracy, and deliver top-notch service to contractors and homeowners alike. The role reports to the General Manager and may grow toward broader store leadership.

You’ll manage sales, merchandising, and safety processes while developing staff and customer relationships for long-term success.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of supervisory or retail management experience in hardware, lumber, building materials, home improvement, contractor sales, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example at the sales counter and showroom floor.
• Train and motivate store associates for knowledgeable customer service.
• Resolve customer concerns quickly and fairly.
• Support contractor and retail relationships, plus new-business prospecting.
• Oversee receiving, stocking, pricing, and product presentation in the showroom.
• Manage inventory accuracy and planograms to improve displays.
• Coordinate payroll and labor scheduling; assist with back-office tasks.
