Job summary

R.P. Lumber in Harrisonville, MO is hiring a Retail Manager for our on-site hardware and building materials store. This hands-on leadership role runs the showroom and yard, coaches a team, maintains inventory accuracy, and delivers top-tier service for contractors and homeowners.

You will lead the store in the General Manager’s absence, drive sales and operations, and help achieve store profitability. 3–5 years of supervisory or retail management experience, strong leadership, and flexibility

Qualifications

3–5 years of supervisory or retail management experience in hardware or building materials.
Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention.
Comfort using a POS system and related retail software.

Responsibilities

Lead sales at the counter and showroom, train staff for excellent customer service.
Manage showroom stocking, pricing, planograms, displays, and product knowledge.
Record sales, transfers, and adjustments accurately and timely.
Support contractor and retail relationships and assist with payroll-related tasks.
Ensure safety and coach the team, while keeping operations running smoothly.
