Job summary

Citi Trends, Inc. in Columbia, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, lead a team, and help drive sales.

You will work closely with the Store Manager on hiring, onboarding, training, and staff development to deliver exceptional customer experiences. This role requires strong communication, organizational and people leadership skills, a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and the ability to manage inventory, cash handling, and performance coaching

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership role.
• 3–5 years of overall retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to ensure sales goals, customer experience standards, and operational expectations are met.
• Monitor sales activity and provide guidance to associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Assist with inventory control, inventory transactions, and shrink prevention efforts.
• Ensure compliance with Citi Trends policies, procedures, and standards.
• Supervise and support store associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and customer service.
• Assist the Store Manager with hiring, onboarding, and training support.
• Help maintain staffing levels by supporting recruiting and retention.
• Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to associates.
• Perform additional duties to support store operations and business needs.
