Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead a single store in a fast-paced retail environment. You will oversee staff, operations, training, and customer service to meet sales and service goals.

The role requires strong leadership, staff scheduling, inventory control, and adherence to cash handling and safety policies. Previous retail management experience is preferred, with emphasis on compliance and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps and counsel as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Open and close the store as required; ensure staffing.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Review ordering plan and inventory issues; manage stock replenishment.
• Maintain store presentation, pricing and signage; ensure accurate inventories.
• Ensure financial integrity with cash handling and security practices.
• Provide superior customer service leadership; maintain a clean, safe store.
