Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a store leader to manage all aspects of store operations, including staffing, training, merchandising, and customer service. You will drive performance, ensure compliance with policies, and develop teams in a fast-paced retail environment.

This role requires strong leadership, cash handling, inventory control, and the ability to open/close store as needed; previous retail management experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire and retain qualified employees per laws and company policies.
• Train staff; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps and provide coaching or termination as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Ensure store is properly staffed and opened/closed as required; perform opening/closing duties at least twice weekly.
• Evaluate store metrics (sales, profitability, inventory, shrink) to identify trends and opportunities.
• Order and stock to meet in-stock targets; review planning and cycle counts.
• Facilitate efficient merchandising, presentation, pricing and signage.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through proper handling of damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Ensure cashier accountability and store security; uphold cash control procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and a clean, safe shopping environment.
