Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Louisiana to support daily operations and customer-focused service. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will help supervise staff, ensure proper merchandise presentation, and handle deposits and cash controls.

You will lead cashier activities, assist with scheduling and training, and uphold company policies while protecting assets. This role emphasizes profitability, customer satisfaction, and store integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to perform cashiering duties and basic math.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, and safety meetings.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy; control damages and deposits.
• Assist in implementing planograms and maintain merchandise presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, and cash control.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
