Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Franklin, PA to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervising employees, merchandising, deposits, and paperwork under the Store Manager’s direction.

Responsibilities include staffing, training, safety meetings, planogram execution, and cash handling with a focus on profitability and loss prevention. Role requires reliable, detail-oriented leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing adequate training, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and rotating merchandise and building displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist in planogram implementation and merchandise presentation per store direction.
• Support financial integrity through cashier accountability, key control, refunds, overrides, tills balance, and bank deposits.
• Assist with store management in Store Manager's absence.
