Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Pennsylvania to help run a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and assist with deposits, while protecting assets and reducing losses.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance. You will also support cashier operations, planogram adherence, and inventory control to drive profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays according to planograms.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels and secure assets; manage damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining planograms and store presentation per direction.
• Support financial integrity: cashier accountability, counting tills, deposits, refunds, and overrides.
• Assist with store operations in Store Manager's absence.
