Job summary

Dollar General's Assistant Store Manager helps maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you supervise store employees, manage merchandise presentation, complete paperwork, and prepare deposits.

The role also involves stocking and cashiering duties, and performing other tasks to maximize profitability while protecting company assets and reducing losses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring employee policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, and building displays.
• Maintain inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist in planograms and merchandising presentations as directed.
• Support financial integrity through cashier accountability, cash handling, and deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
