Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development at our Hickory location. You’ll help supervise associates, assist with merchandising, and ensure store standards and safety guidelines are met.

The role emphasizes leadership, effective communication, and problem-solving to deliver a positive shopping experience and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail/grocery preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical store tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handling damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized per standards.
• Protect store assets and cash; adhere to safety policies.
• Supervise, train, and develop store associates; maintain a respectful environment.
