Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager candidate to oversee staff, training, and store operations, ensuring strong customer service and compliance with company policies. The role emphasizes staffing, coaching, and efficient merchandising across all departments.

The position requires 1 year of management experience in retail, with a focus on cash control, safety, and inventory management. A high school diploma is strongly preferred, and bilingual Spanish may be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting documents and safety rules.
• Perform basic math calculations for pricing and sales.
• Know cash handling procedures including deposits.
• Operate IBM cash registers to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Experience with recruiting, interviewing and termination processes.
• Familiarity with cash, facility and safety control policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire and retain qualified employees.
• Provide training and conduct performance evaluations.
• Recommend pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations.
• Ensure store staffing and opening/closing.
• Open/close store at least twice weekly.
• Analyze operating statements for trends and costs.
• Manage inventory and ordering plans weekly.
• Staging, stocking and storage of merchandise.
• Ensure proper merchandising and pricing.
