Job summary

Family Dollar in Benbrook, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver outstanding customer service, and develop the team.

You will organize merchandise from the dock to the floor, process directives, maintain displays, assist with payroll and scheduling, and safeguard store assets. The role emphasizes safety, professionalism, and a positive, respectful environment for customers and associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to read and explain directives.
• Retail store management experience in grocery or drug store environment is preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have
• Organize merchandise and transfer from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor, maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests and communications
• Maintain promotional displays and storefront fixtures
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll and scheduling, cash deposits/receipts, and loss prevention
• Maintain neat and stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain positive, safe, respectful environment with customers, associates and leaders
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neatness
• Other duties as assigned*
