Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Zion, Illinois is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help organize merchandise, and supervise store associates under the Store Manager's guidance.

You'll contribute to a safe, friendly shopping environment, uphold company policies, train staff, manage opening/closing procedures, and help maintain stockrooms and sales floors to standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor as needed.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked, neat sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures and guide store associates accordingly.
• Help store manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
