Job summary

Dollar Tree in Peoria, IL seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help supervise associates, handle opening/closing, merchandise flow, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment.

This part-time role offers hands-on leadership, exposure to payroll and scheduling tasks, and opportunities to advance within a fast-paced national retailer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as required
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits)
• Maintain store areas to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and restrooms
