Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, enhance customer service, and develop team members in Lamar, MO. You will assist with day-to-day functions, merchandising, opening/closing procedures, and ensure compliance with company policies.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a proactive, energetic approach to a busy retail environment. This is a part-time opportunity with growth potential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform duties requiring frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and climbing
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional customer interactions
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal
• Other duties as assigned
