Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a General Manager to oversee the operations of one or more stores within a market, aligning with the Division President's direction on inventory, sales, and profit.

You will supervise staff, manage budgets, enforce safety policies, and drive customer satisfaction by effective leadership and process improvements. Strong communication with field teams, vendors, and internal departments is essential, as is a track record of building productive teams and achieving targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university and related work experience in building materials or similar industry.
• Experience supervising staff and managing multiple responsibilities.
• Knowledge of inventory management, procurement, and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall management of location(s), including production, sales, customer service, inventory, delivery, and safety.
• Plan and direct functions to meet operational and financial goals for the location.
• Collaborate with local and senior management on budgets and capital expenditure for location(s).
• Communicate and enforce operating policies; ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Motivate and train managers; maintain productive workforce.
• Support OSHA and DOT safety initiatives and promote healthy work environment.
• Direct reports who manage departments; evaluate performance and coordinate efforts.
• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Partner with HR to evaluate performance and address disciplinary matters.
