Job summary

Hannaford is seeking a Department Manager to lead a grocery department in Northwood, NH. You will oversee daily operations, staff development, merchandising, and safety, ensuring high-quality customer service and achievement of financial objectives.

The role requires strong leadership, industry knowledge, and a proactive approach to operations. You will manage schedules, performance, and compliance with company policies while maintaining store appearance and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Demonstrated good judgement solving problems, making decisions, handling complaints, arbitrating disputes and resolving grievances.
• Desire and ability to lead and manage associates throughout multiple departments.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• College degree or equivalent preferred.
• National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar accrediting organization as a Certified Food Safety Manager, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
