Job summary

Palmetto Goodwill in the United States seeks a Supervisory Retail role to lead the team in the manager's absence, plan, assign, and direct work. You will train staff, manage store operations, handle donations and sales, and uphold I-CARE values while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Leads retail team and store activities in the absence of the Retail Store Manager and/or Retail Assistant Store Manager.
• Trains team members and directs work while reporting to store leadership.
• Assists in operation and management of the retail center; supports daily duties personally or via team.
• Demonstrates commitment to I-CARE values and delivers amazing customer experiences to all customers.
• Acts as an ambassador of Palmetto Goodwill and our I-CARE values.
• Participates in training and development and fosters diversity and inclusion.
• Receives donations and processes them using the GRATIS framework.
• Sorts, prices, and stocks donations; utilizes POS to complete sales and encourages round-ups.
• Maintains records of donations, production of merchandise, and required tasks.
• Leads safety initiatives, maintains clean work areas, and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Obtains and maintains forklift, stacker, and first-aid/CPR certifications; coaches team members.
• Performs administrative tasks, including opening/closing duties and bank deposits.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Leads retail team and store activities in the absence of and at the direction of the Retail Store Manager and/or Retail Assistant Store Manager. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the Agency's policies and procedures. Responsibilities include training team members, planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing concerns and reporting circumstances to the Retail Store Manager or Retail Assistant Store Manager.

Assists the Retail Store Manager and Retail Assistant Store Manager in the operation and management of a retail center by performing the following duties personally or through supporting team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately records donations, production of merchandise and specified tasks.
• Exceeds established production goals corresponding to role in retail location.
• Maintains clean work environment.
• Demonstrates a mastery of cashier, softline production, and donor services / hardline production roles through evaluation.
• Obtains and maintains forklift and walk‑behind stacker certification.
• Obtains and maintains first‑aid / CPR / BBP certification.
• Trains team members as they are onboarded. Ensures that a positive example is set for all team members.
• Recognizes when team members need coaching and provides immediate coaching when applicable.
• Issues refunds and resolves customer concerns.
• Reports known or suspected security and/or theft problems to a member of store management, appropriate District Manager, and/or Asset Protection department.
• Complies with all agency policies, procedures, and safety standards throughout all work areas; maintains same to meet CARF, Department of Labor, and other regulatory standards.
• Leads retail team and store activities in the absence of and at the direction of the Retail Store Manager and/or Retail Assistant Store Manager; see Supervisory Responsibilities below.
• Performs all administrative and clerical duties including but not limited to completing opening/closing duties, making bank deposits and securing the building at the direction of the Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
