Provides shift-level guidance, coordination, and oversight of assigned security duties and procedures. This role supports operational execution and adherence to security protocols but does not include direct authority over hiring, termination, compensation, or formal disciplinary actions.

PositionSummary
The Retail Security Supervisor supports retail operations by serving in a dual-function role that combines reception and security responsibilities within the licensed retail facility. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, customers, patients, and visitors; assessing and de-escalating situations; responding to workplace injuries and security incidents; and supporting regulatory compliance within retail operations.
- Serve as the primary reception point for customers, patients, and visitors, including greeting individuals, answering phones, and providing authorized information in a professional manner.
- Conduct customer intake procedures by verifying age through scanning valid identification and directing customers through initial purchasing steps.
- Enforce facility access rules, including denying entry or requesting individuals leave the premises when required by policy.
- Assess developing situations and engage with customers, patients, or employees to de-escalate conflicts, disturbances, or disruptive behavior in a calm and professional manner.
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, injuries, accidents, security incidents, and emergency situations.
- Lead initial response to workplace injuries, including providing First Aid and AED support and assisting with incident documentation and follow-up reporting.
- Initiate, document, and maintain accurate incident reports, witness statements, and security records related to safety, security, or compliance events.
- Coordinate with emergency services or law enforcement when escalation is required.
- Protect company assets from theft, diversion, assault, fire, and other safety or security risks.
- Communicate security concerns, incidents, and ongoing issues during shift transitions to ensure continuity of coverage.
- Maintain customer and patient confidentiality in accordance with applicable privacy and security requirements.
- Apply company security and safety protocols consistently in daily operations.
- Report customer, patient, or employee issues to supervisor staff and assist with investigation and resolution as appropriate.
- Maintain open, professional communication with management, security personnel, and retail staff.
- Support retail, security, and operations leadership to ensure safe and secure store operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
All security, reception, surveillance, incident response, and customer interaction activities are performed in accordance with company procedures and regulatory expectations.

Requirements
MinimumQualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must successfully complete required criminal background checks.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol screening in accordance with company policy.
- Must be eligible for employment under Nevada cannabis regulations.
- Must be able to successfully complete and pass required virtual METRC training, as applicable to the role.
- Must maintain valid FirstAid, CPR, and AED certification.
- Previous customer service, security, or safety-related experience preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, including internal experience.
This position requires working in environments where cannabis products are present, which may include exposure to marijuana odor and plant-related airborne dust particles.
This is a customer and patient-facing position and requires the ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively in order to interact with customers and patients, assess and de-escalate situations, monitor security systems, respond to incidents, and perform essential job duties.
