Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is hiring for a Store Associate at the DES MOINES-WEST, IA location. You will assist customers, manage checkouts, and help drive store performance through merchandise recovery and stock management.

Responsibilities include helping customers locate products, enrolling them in rewards programs, and supporting omnichannel processes like BOPIS and SFS. Flexible hours, physical work, and a safety-conscious team environment are expected.

Qualifications

• Retail experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Standing for long periods.
• Lifting heavy boxes and moving stock.

Responsibilities

• Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions
• Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience; execute cash handling to standards
• Engage customers on rewards programs and enrollments
• Assist with Omni channel processes including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS)
• Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram processes
• Maintain store recovery and in-stock conditions; handle returns and go-backs
• Support shrink and safety programs
• Adhere to SOPs and company policies
• Interact with others in a respectful manner and serve as a role model for team members
• Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production
