Job summary

Staples is hiring Travel Specialists to engage customers with our travel services and products, including TSA Precheck and passport photos. Training is provided and interviews may be scheduled soon after applying.

Earn $19.20–$19.45 per hour with full-time or part-time hours depending on store needs. We offer PTO, weekly pay, career growth, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) match, dental, and vision insurance.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and a U.S. citizen.
• Flexible schedule based on store needs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to operate office equipment.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
• Ability to manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
• Honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Ability to lift/move 10–50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide Travel Government or TSA-related consumer sales for identity-related products and services.
• Engage customers with comprehensive travel solutions including product sales (e.g., luggage).
• Greet customers and provide a professional, welcoming experience.
• Engage customers and present products and solutions that meet needs and drive sales.
• Verify identity, scan documents, and take passport photos.
• Capture biometric data and complete related paperwork.
• Maintain and troubleshoot fingerprinting and retail equipment.
• Support other store areas during onboarding period.
• Be flexible to perform other duties as assigned.

Travel Specialists engage customers with our travel services and products (i.e., travel supplies, luggage) for an easier travel experience. You will assist customers through TSA Precheck, passport photos, or by initiating background checks and other services for various federal or state programs. Services offered vary by store. Hiring immediately and training provided.

Verify customer identity, scan required documents into database system, take passport photos

Complete customer fingerprint images, biometric & data capture processes and paperwork

Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot issues with fingerprinting and retail equipment

Support other areas of the store during your 8-10 week onboarding period

Be flexible to perform other duties as assigned or needed in the store

Essential skills and experience:

18 years of age or older and must be a U.S. citizen

Able to work a flexible schedule based on the store’s needs. This role usually has a more consistent schedule.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to operate a keyboard, photocopier, other office equipment

1+ years customer service-related experience

Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment

Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner

Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information

Ability to lift/move materials in the 10-50 pound range, climb ladders, stand, and walk continuously
