Job summary

Staples, Inc. in Pasadena is hiring Travel Specialists to assist customers with travel services and products, including TSA Precheck, passport photos, and background checks for government programs.

Training is provided, and you’ll help customers find solutions with a friendly, professional approach. Onboarding lasts 8-10 weeks, with ample opportunity for full-time or part-time hours depending on store openings.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older and must be a U.S. citizen.
• Able to work a flexible schedule based on the store’s needs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to operate a keyboard, photocopier, other office equipment.
• 1+ years customer service-related experience.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Ability to lift/move materials in the 10-50 pound range, climb ladders, stand, and walk continuously.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers with travel solutions including product sales (e.g. luggage).
• Greet all customers and provide a professional and welcoming experience.
• Present products and solutions that drive sales with customers’ needs in mind.
• Verify customer identity, scan required documents, and take passport photos.
• Complete fingerprint images, biometric and data capture paperwork.
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot fingerprinting and retail equipment.
• Support other areas of the store during the 8-10 week onboarding period.
• Be flexible to perform other duties as assigned or needed in the store.

Travel Specialists engage customers with our travel services and products (i.e., travel supplies, luggage) for an easier travel experience. You will assist customers through TSA Precheck, passport photos, or by initiating background checks and other services for various federal or state programs. Services offered vary by store. Hiring immediately and training provided.

Provide Travel Government or TSA-related consumer sales for identity-related products and services.

Essential skills and experience:
