Job summary

Staples in California is hiring a Travel Specialist to assist customers with travel-related products and government identity services. You will greet customers, present solutions, verify identities, and capture biometric data, including passport photos, while supporting onboarding and other duties as needed.

The role requires 18+ and U.S. citizenship, a flexible schedule, and prior customer service experience. Training is provided and visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older and must be a U.S. citizen.
• Able to work a flexible schedule based on the store’s needs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to operate a keyboard, photocopier, other office equipment
• 1+ years customer service-related experience
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
• Ability to lift/move materials in the 10-50 pound range, climb ladders, stand, and walk continuously

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers and provide a professional and welcoming experience
• Engage customers and present products & solutions that drive sales with our customer’s needs in mind
• Verify customer identity, scan required documents into database system, take passport photos
• Complete customer fingerprint images, biometric & data capture processes and paperwork
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot issues with fingerprinting and retail equipment
• Support other areas of the store during onboarding period (8-10 weeks)
• Be flexible to perform other duties as assigned or needed in the store

Travel Specialists

engage customers with our travel services and products (i.e., travel supplies, luggage) for an easier travel experience. You will assist customers through TSA Precheck, passport photos, or by initiating background checks and other services for various federal or state programs. Services offered vary by store.
