Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Retail Sales and Store Support team member to keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop. You will help customers locate items, restock shelves, and maintain displays, with opportunities to assist across departments throughout the shift.

The role emphasizes accurate pricing, labeling, and engaging service in a fast-paced environment, with a requirement for basic math and English literacy. Flexible scheduling is available.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older (18 years of age or older, depending on role requirements)
• Prior retail, stocking, or customer service experience preferred
• Ability to operate equipment such as pallet jacks, balers, and box cutters following training and safety guidelines
• Basic math and communication skills required
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Compliance with company policies including safety, sanitation, and dress standards

Responsibilities

• Keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop.
• Help customers locate items and answer questions.
• Stock shelves, rotate products, update signage and maintain display standards.
• Maintain backroom organization and monitor inventory levels.
• Operate equipment safely (pallet jacks, box cutters) and assist across departments.
