Job summary

Mill Creek Carpet & Tile, a division of Mill Creek Lumber & Supply Company, seeks a Retail Sales Consultant to guide homeowners, designers, and contractors through flooring selections and showroom experiences.

You will prepare quotes, coordinate orders, and help schedule installations while building lasting customer relationships and meeting sales goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, interior design, flooring, or related field preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build relationships and provide excellent customer service.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customers and projects.
• Willingness to learn flooring products, installation processes, and design applications.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning CRM, point-of-sale, and other company systems.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide a welcoming, professional showroom experience.
• Assist customers with selecting carpet, hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, laminate, tile, countertops, area rugs, accessories, and other products.
• Learn customers’ needs, style preferences, budgets, and project requirements to recommend appropriate products and solutions.
• Prepare quotes, enter orders, and maintain accurate customer and project information.
• Coordinate measurements, product orders, deliveries, and installation scheduling as needed.
• Follow up with customers throughout the sales and installation process.
• Develop lasting customer relationships that generate repeat business and referrals.
• Keep showroom displays, samples, and merchandising areas organized, current, and customer-ready.
• Process customer payments and assist with order documentation.
• Work with installers, vendors, purchasing, and other Mill Creek team members to ensure projects are completed successfully.
• Meet or exceed individual and showroom sales goals.

We are seeking an outgoing, motivated Retail Sales Consultant to join our team. This position works directly with homeowners, designers, and contractors to help bring their projects to life. From flooring and tile to countertops and other interior finishes, our Retail Sales Consultants guide customers through the selection process while providing an exceptional showroom experience from start to finish.

• Work with installers, vendors, purchasing, and other Mill Creek team members to ensure projects are completed successfully.
• Assist in resolving customer questions or concerns professionally and promptly.
• Meet or exceed individual and showroom sales goals.
• Participate in vendor training, product education, and company meetings.

• Ability to lift and move product samples weighing up to approximately 30 pounds.
