Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California in San Francisco's Main Thrift Store is seeking a Sales Associate/Material Handler to join our Retail team. This position supports store operations, greets donors and customers, and helps merchandise donations to the floor while ensuring a positive shopping and donor experience.

Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, stocking items, and processing donations in line with TSA standards. Flexible scheduling and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must operate POS/Cash Register.
• Must pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock priced items ready for merchandizing on the sales floor.
• Sort donations in accordance with Salvation Army standards.
• Assist in maintaining store cleanliness and organization.
• Follow POS / cash register policies and safety procedures.
