Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to serve customers, help set plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and maintain store standards to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, assist shoppers, operate the cash register, and help with displays and cleanliness while following company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, building displays, stocking merchandise, assisting customers, and handling payments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise on shelves.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; store merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build and stock merchandise displays; rotate and face items.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating products.
• Greet customers and operate the cash register to total purchases; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners as needed.
• Keep the store clean, stockroom organized, and assist with sidewalk displays when required.
• Follow company policies and procedures at all times.
