Job summary

The Children’s Place in Newark, NJ is seeking a Sales Associate to support the Store Leadership Team in achieving company goals. You will deliver excellent customer service, share product knowledge, and apply effective selling techniques while maintaining attractive merchandise presentation.

You will handle cash wrap duties, assist with stock, and ensure a clean, organized store and backroom. The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), 18+ and weekend/shift flexibility.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous retail experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Be aware of customer activity and respond with urgency.
• Greet and acknowledge customers while providing the appropriate level of service.
• Explain value and quality of merchandise and promotions; offer solutions for out-of-stock items.
• Address customer concerns with sound judgment.
• Demonstrate selling skills to positively impact conversion.
• Provide fast, friendly service at the cashwrap and educate customers on the PLACE Card.
• Maintain stock levels and ensure representation of all sizes and styles.
• Follow presentation, signage, and display standards.
• Keep stockroom neat, clean, and organized; maintain a customer-ready environment.
• Perform daily housekeeping to company standard.
• Protect assets by adhering to Loss Prevention procedures.
• Inform leadership of maintenance needs to ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Contribute to store goals with focused efforts.
• Handle stock processing when needed.
