Job summary

The Children’s Place in Newark, New Jersey is seeking a Sales Associate to support the Store Leadership Team in achieving company goals. You will model excellent customer service with product knowledge and effective selling techniques, maintaining lighting, signage, and pristine presentation of merchandise.

You will greet customers, assist with promotions, maintain stock levels, and help ensure a clean, organized store and backroom while complying with safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous retail experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Be aware of customer activity and respond with urgency, prioritizing assisting customers.
• Greet and acknowledge customers while providing appropriate service.
• Explain value and promotions; offer solutions for out-of-stock items.
• Address customer concerns with sound judgment.
• Demonstrate selling skills to positively impact conversion.
• Provide fast, friendly service at the cashwrap and explain The PLACE Card benefits.
• Maintain stock levels and ensure sizes/styles are represented.
• Follow merchandise presentation, signage, and display standards.
• Keep stockroom neat and organized; maintain a customer-ready environment and safety compliance.
• Perform daily housekeeping per company standards.
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention procedures.
• Report maintenance and facility needs to Store Leadership promptly.
• Contribute to store goals with focused efforts.
• Be flexible for stock processing as needed.
