Job summary

The Children’s Place in Jersey City, New Jersey is seeking a Sales Associate who will support the Store Leadership Team to achieve company goals. You will deliver excellent customer service through strong product knowledge and effective selling techniques.

You will maintain merchandise presentation and replenishment, manage a clean store and backroom, and assist with daily operations including stock processing and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous retail experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Be aware of customer activity and respond with a sense of urgency, prioritizing assisting customers over other tasks.
• Greet and acknowledge customers while providing the appropriate level of service.
• Effectively communicate value and quality of our merchandise while sharing promotions and offer solutions for out of stock items.
• Address customer concerns with sound judgment.
• Demonstrate selling skills to positively impact conversion.
• Provide fast, friendly service at the cashwrap and educate customers on The PLACE Card benefits.
• Maintain stock levels and ensure sizes/styles are represented.
• Follow standards of merchandise presentation, signage, and display.
• Keep a neat, clean, organized stockroom and a customer-ready environment; adhere to safety requirements.
• Perform daily housekeeping to company standards.
• Protect assets by following Loss Prevention procedures.
• Inform leadership of maintenance needs promptly to ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Contribute toward store goals with focused efforts.
• Be flexible and process stock when necessary.
