Job summary

The Children’s Place in Newark, NJ is seeking a Sales Associate to support the Store Leadership Team in achieving company goals and delivering excellent customer service. You will handle product knowledge, promotions, and in-store merchandising while maintaining a clean store and backroom.

You will greet customers, resolve issues, and process transactions at the cashwrap, all while adhering to safety and loss prevention standards. This role requires flexibility for weekends and varied shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous retail experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with urgency and prioritize helping customers.
• Greet and acknowledge customers with appropriate service level.
• Explain promotions and offer solutions for out-of-stock items.
• Address customer concerns with sound judgment and courtesy.
• Demonstrate selling skills to improve conversion.
• Assist at cashwrap and educate customers on PLACE Card benefits.
• Maintain stock levels and ensure sizes and styles are represented.
• Follow standards for merchandise presentation, signage and display.
• Keep stockroom neat and organized and uphold safety requirements.
• Perform daily housekeeping to company standard.
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention procedures.
• Report maintenance and facility needs to Store Leadership promptly.
• Contribute toward store goals with focused efforts.
• Handle stock processing as needed.
