Job summary

New Balance is seeking a Retail Sales Associate in Asheville, NC to deliver exceptional customer service and help customers find the right NB products. You will educate customers on features, assist with sizing and fitting, and close sales while maintaining a clean, organized floor.

The role requires a flexible schedule, the ability to lift and stand for long periods, and a team-oriented mindset to represent the brand across all interactions.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Should be a people person.
• Past retail experience preferred, but not necessary.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to flourish in a team environment.
• Familiarity with cash register functions.
• Ability to quickly perform basic math.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Greet and make customer contact using the GUEST service model.
• Understand the customer's needs and provide product recommendations.
• Educate the customer on product features and benefits.
• Solve customer problems and answer questions.
• Transact sales through suggestive selling and effective closing.
• Measure and fit customers with appropriate New Balance products.
• Inform customers about promotions and specials.
• Keep the store floor neat, organized and well stocked.
• Ensure items are labeled and properly priced.
• Protect products by tagging, monitoring stock, and reporting shrinkage.
