Job summary

Bethlehemchamber in New York is seeking a Part-Time Backyard Bird Feeding Hobby Store associate. 16-24 hours per week across 2-3 days, with one weekend day required. No cashier duties; emphasis on retail sales, customer service, inventory, pricing, stocking, and merchandising.

You'll handle clerical tasks, use a computer POS system, and maintain store cleanliness. Interest in wild birds, gardening, and nature helps; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Retail sales or customer service experience strongly desired.
• Must be computer literate and comfortable using a computer POS system.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• This is not a cashier role.

In addition to Retail Sales and Customer Service, job entails receiving inventory, pricing merchandise and stocking shelves; routine store cleaning; clerical tasks; and display/merchandising tasks, as assigned by the Store Manager or Owner. Must be computer literate and comfortable using a computer Point of Sale System.

This is NOT a cashier job.

This is a Backyard Bird Feeding Hobby Store specializing in wild bird food, bird feeders, bird houses, hardware, and birdbaths. We also sell nature gifts, garden decor, children's toys and other nature-related products. You should have an interest in wild birds and other wildlife, gardening, and nature and the outdoors. We will teach you everything you need to know about the backyard bird feeding hobby.
