Job summary

IKEA USA in Hicksville, NY is seeking a Retail Safety & Loss Prevention Associate to help protect people and property, perform audits, and respond to incidents. You will maintain safety equipment and ensure compliance with local regulations.

You will work 34–40 hours per week with an hourly pay range of $21.48 to $30.34, with benefits eligibility and opportunities for professional growth. A background check and drug test are required for this sensitive role.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of relevant work experience in safety, security, compliance, loss prevention, and/or asset protection in a retail environment.
• Strong safety and audit background/writing skills required.
• Strong de-escalation capabilities and keen eye to identify suspicious behavior.
• Strong leadership capabilities and alignment with IKEA values.
• Critical thinker and team player, able to work independently.
• Punctual and responsible.
• Candidates in New York must be eligible to obtain a security guard license.

What you'll be doing day to day

• Ensures the safety and security of the people and property per local regulations
• Completes safety, security, and compliance audits and trainings
• Maintains critical safety equipment such as alarms, radios, and security systems
• Reports and follows up on incidents that occur
• Responds to and coordinates emergency situations in work areas such as burglar alarms, fire alarms, active shooter and other emergency events

HOURS – 34-40 hours per week. Must have complete open working availability from Monday to Sunday between the hours of 7:00AM to 11:00PM, as well as occasional overnight shifts are required.

The hourly pay range for this role is $21.48 - $30.34

• Candidates in New York, Oregon and St. Louis, MO, must be eligible to obtain a security guard license as required by applicable local law. Obtaining the security guard license is a required condition of employment for this role.
