Delivers exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identifies customer needs and provides advice and guidance regarding financial solutions that are in the best interests of customers. Works collaboratively within the branch and with BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.

U.S. Only: This position will act as an originator of consumer loans as defined by Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the S.A.F.E. Act. This position requires Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. The Bank will instruct you on registration requirements. A criminal background review and credit history evaluation will be required, along with restrictions on performing as a real estate agent.

  • Takes a lead in proactively engaging with existing customers and prospects by providing needs-based assessments to grow loyalty and identify opportunities.
  • Engages customers to complete needs assessments, identifying financial solutions and preferred banking channels, recommending tailored solutions including everyday banking, retail investments, lending solutions, home financing, and small business solutions.
  • Offers advice on digital and self-serve options to enhance banking convenience.
  • Supports customer transactions based on traffic flow.
  • Builds new relationships through outreach, appointments, and community engagement.
  • Addresses questions and resolves issues from credit audits and quality checks, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Applies risk management principles to protect assets and maintain portfolio quality.
  • Provides credit recommendations for personal and home financing loans, adhering to sound credit principles and policies.
  • Collaborates effectively within the branch and market team.
  • Understands customer needs and integrates marketing promotions into conversations.
  • Organizes work information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Finds creative ways to personalize customer experiences.
  • Contributes to improving the branch customer experience and overall business results.
  • May work across multiple branches with varying schedules.
  • Follows risk and compliance policies to safeguard assets and privacy.
  • Stays informed on marketplace trends, legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
  • Maintains knowledge of products and trends, integrating them into customer interactions.
  • Identifies suspicious activities related to money laundering and reports accordingly.
  • Ensures compliance with jurisdiction-specific legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Handles complex tasks and escalations, analyzing issues to determine next steps.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience and post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • Canada: Registration to sell investment products completed, as appropriate.
  • Lending qualifications and designations required.
  • Knowledge of personal and small business customer needs, solutions, and retail investment and lending products.
  • Financial services experience is an asset.
  • Proficient with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Experience in customer service or sales with a focus on personal experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication, organization, collaboration, and analytical skills.

Salary: $41,715.00 - $67,000.00

Pay Type: Salaried

Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications, and may include commissions. Part-time salaries are pro-rated. The listed salary is a target for the first year.
