U.S. Only: This position will act as an originator of consumer loans as defined by Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the S.A.F.E. Act. Requires Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. A criminal background review and credit history evaluation will be conducted, along with restrictions on performing in a real estate agent capacity.
Responsibilities
- Proactively engage with existing customers and prospects by providing needs-based assessments to grow loyalty and identify opportunities.
- Complete needs assessments to identify financial solutions and recommend tailored solutions addressing sales and service needs.
- Advise clients on digital and self-serve options to enhance banking convenience.
- Support customer transactions based on traffic and needs.
- Grow BMO’s business through outreach, appointments, and community relationship-building.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements during credit audits and quality checks.
- Apply risk management frameworks to protect assets and maintain portfolio quality.
- Make credit recommendations for personal lending, including home financing.
- Collaborate as a key member of the branch and market team.
- Understand customer banking and credit card needs, integrating marketing strategies into conversations.
- Organize work information for accuracy and completeness.
- Innovate to personalize customer experiences and improve branch operations.
- Contribute to business results and overall branch experience.

Qualifications
- Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience; post-secondary degree preferred.
- Canada-specific: Investment product registration completed.
- Lending qualifications and designations.
- Knowledge of personal and small business customer needs and solutions.
- Experience with retail investments and lending products.
- Financial services experience is advantageous.
- Proficient with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
- Customer service or sales experience with a personal touch.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and creative response skills.
- Good verbal and written communication, organization, collaboration, and analytical skills.
