Job Family Group: Retail Banking Sales & Service

Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects by identifying customer needs and providing advice on financial solutions that are in their best interests. Collaborate within the branch and with BMO partners to enhance customer experience and meet business objectives.

Note for U.S. Applicants: This role involves acting as an originator of consumer loans as per Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the S.A.F.E. Act, requiring federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. A criminal background check and credit review are mandatory, along with restrictions on real estate agent activities.

  1. Proactively engage with existing and prospective customers, assessing needs to foster loyalty and identify opportunities.
  2. Conduct needs assessments, recommend tailored financial solutions, and promote digital banking options.
  3. Support customer transactions and develop new community relationships to grow BMO’s business.
  4. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies during credit assessments and lending processes.
  5. Apply risk management principles to safeguard assets and maintain portfolio quality.
  6. Make credit recommendations aligned with sound principles and bank policies.
  7. Contribute as a team member within the branch and market, supporting overall business results.
  8. Understand customer needs for personal banking and credit cards, integrating marketing strategies into customer interactions.
  9. Maintain organized, accurate work records and seek creative ways to personalize customer experiences.
  10. Participate in ongoing improvements to the branch customer experience and uphold ethical standards and regulatory compliance.
  11. Handle escalations and complex tasks within regulatory and policy limits.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience, with a post-secondary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Canada-specific: Investment product registration and lending qualifications required.
  • Knowledge of personal and small business banking needs, retail investments, and lending products.
  • Experience in financial services, social media, and digital tools is advantageous.
  • Customer service or sales experience with a results-driven approach.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Salary: $45,900.00 - $73,700.00 | Pay Type: Salaried
