Job Family Group: Retail Banking Sales & Service

Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identify customer needs and provide advice on financial solutions that benefit customers. Collaborate within the branch and with BMO partners to enhance customer experience and meet business goals.

Note for U.S. Applicants: This role involves acting as an originator of consumer loans, requiring registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry, and compliance with relevant regulations and acts. A background check and credit review are mandatory.

  1. Proactively engage with customers and prospects to assess needs, foster loyalty, and identify opportunities.
  2. Conduct needs assessments to recommend tailored financial solutions, including banking, investments, lending, and small business services.
  3. Advise clients on digital and self-serve banking options to simplify their banking experience.
  4. Support customer transactions based on branch traffic.
  5. Build new relationships and grow business through outreach and community engagement.
  6. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and lending policies during credit audits and application processes.
  7. Apply risk management principles to protect assets and maintain portfolio quality.
  8. Make credit recommendations aligned with sound principles and bank policies.
  9. Collaborate effectively as part of a branch and market team.
  10. Understand customer needs for banking and credit cards, integrating marketing strategies into customer interactions.
  11. Maintain accurate and complete work records.
  12. Innovate to personalize customer experiences and improve branch service quality.
  13. Contribute to achieving business results and enhancing overall customer experience.
  14. Work across multiple branches as needed; schedule may vary.
  15. Follow risk, compliance, and privacy policies diligently.
  16. Stay informed on market trends, products, and regulatory changes.
  17. Report suspicious activities related to money laundering.
  18. Complete tasks within regulatory and policy limits, including handling escalations.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience; post-secondary degree or equivalent preferred.
  • For Canada: Investment sales registration completed as required.
  • Relevant lending qualifications and designations.
  • Knowledge of personal and small business banking needs and solutions.
  • Experience with retail investments and lending products is an asset.
  • Proficient with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Experience in customer service or sales, with a focus on personal customer experiences.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, collaboration, and analytical skills.

Salary: $41,715.00 - $67,000.00

Pay Type: Salaried (may include commissions, bonuses, and other benefits)
