Job Family Group: Retail Banking Sales & Service

Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identify customer needs and provide advice on financial solutions that benefit customers. Collaborate within the branch and with BMO partners to enhance customer experience and meet business goals.

U.S. Only: This role involves originating consumer loans as per Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the S.A.F.E. Act, requiring Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System. A criminal background check and credit review are mandatory, with restrictions on real estate agent activities.

  • Proactively engage with existing and prospective customers to assess needs, foster loyalty, and uncover opportunities.
  • Conduct needs assessments to recommend tailored solutions across banking, investments, lending, and small business services.
  • Advise clients on digital and self-serve banking options to enhance convenience.
  • Support customer transactions based on branch traffic.
  • Expand BMO’s business by outreach, appointment setting, and community engagement.
  • Address questions and resolve issues related to credit audits, data accuracy, and lending compliance.
  • Apply risk management principles to safeguard assets and maintain portfolio quality.
  • Make credit decisions for personal loans, including home financing, following sound principles and policies.
  • Collaborate effectively within the branch and market team.
  • Understand customer needs for banking and credit cards, integrating marketing strategies into conversations.
  • Organize work to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Innovate to personalize customer experiences.
  • Contribute to overall branch success and customer satisfaction.
  • Work across multiple branches as needed; schedule may vary.
  • Follow risk and compliance policies to protect customer assets and privacy.
  • Stay informed on financial market trends, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain current knowledge of banking products and practices.
  • Report suspicious activities related to money laundering.
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience; post-secondary education desirable or equivalent experience.
  • For Canada: Investment product registration completed, as applicable.
  • Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
  • Knowledge of personal and small business banking needs and solutions.
  • Experience with retail investments and lending products is an asset.
  • Comfortable with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Experience in customer service or sales, with a focus on personalized service.
  • Passionate about helping customers.
  • Results-oriented with a team collaboration mindset.
  • Resourceful, confident, and proactive in customer engagement.

Salary: $45,900.00 - $73,700.00

Pay Type: Salaried
