Job Family Group: Retail Banking Sales & Service

Delivers exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identifies customer needs and provides advice and guidance regarding financial solutions that are in the best interests of customers. Works collaboratively within the branch and with BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Proactively engage with existing customers and prospects by providing needs-based assessments to grow loyalty and identify immediate / future opportunities.
  2. Engage customers to complete needs assessments that identify financial solutions and preferred banking channels while recommending tailored solutions addressing both sales and service needs (e.g., everyday banking, retail investments, lending solutions, home financing including business-for-self applications, and small business solutions).
  3. Advise clients on digital and self-serve options to make banking easy, simple, and fast.
  4. Support customer transactions based on customer traffic.
  5. Grow BMO’s business by reaching out, generating appointments, and building new relationships within the community.
  6. Address questions and resolve issues raised through credit audits and quality checks to ensure accurate data entry and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  7. Apply risk management frameworks to protect the Bank's assets and maintain portfolio quality.
  8. Make credit recommendations for personal lending transactions, including home financing, following sound credit principles and policies.
  9. Collaborate effectively as a key member of the branch and market team.
  10. Understand customer personal banking and credit card needs, and incorporate marketing promotions into customer conversations.
  11. Organize work information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  12. Find creative approaches to personalize each customer’s experience.
  13. Contribute to ongoing improvements in the branch customer experience.
  14. Support business results and overall branch experience.
  15. May work at multiple branches based on market needs; work schedule may vary.
  16. Follow risk and compliance policies to safeguard customer assets and privacy.
  17. Stay informed about the financial marketplace, legal and regulatory environment, and uphold ethical standards.
  18. Maintain current knowledge of products, practices, and trends, and incorporate into customer interactions.
  19. Report suspicious activity related to money laundering.
  20. Comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  21. Complete complex tasks within rules and handle escalations as needed.
  22. Analyze issues and determine next steps.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience; post-secondary degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Canada: Registration to sell investment products completed, as appropriate.
  • Relevant lending qualifications and designations.
  • Knowledge of personal and small business customer needs and solutions.
  • Experience in financial services is an asset.
  • Proficient with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Experience in customer service or sales with a focus on personal experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication, organization, collaboration, and analytical skills.

Salary: $41,715.00 - $67,000.00

Pay Type: Salaried
