We're Looking for a Recruiter Who Knows Great Talent Doesn't Always Apply
Rogers Enterprises, Inc., home to Rogers & Hollands Jewelers and Ashcroft & Oak Jewelers, is looking for an energetic, resourceful Retail Recruiter to join our Human Resources team.
We're not looking for someone who simply posts jobs and waits for applications. We want a recruiter who enjoys finding great people - including talented individuals who may not currently be looking for their next opportunity.
The ideal candidate is outgoing, driven, analytical, and comfortable getting out from behind the desk. You'll actively source passive candidates, visit retail locations and competitors, build talent pipelines, leverage social media and professional networks, and use recruiting analytics to help us continuously improve how and where we find talent.
If you are a natural relationship-builder with a strong work ethic who enjoys the challenge of finding the right person for the right opportunity, we would love to meet you.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies for retail positions across our organization.
- Proactively identify and engage passive candidates rather than relying solely on applicants responding to job postings.
- Conduct market and field recruiting, including visiting competitors, shopping centers, and other retail establishments to identify potential talent.
- Build and maintain strong talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
- Source candidates through LinkedIn, social media, recruiting databases, job boards, referrals, networking, colleges, mall recruiting resources, and other creative sourcing channels.
- Develop sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill positions and markets.
- Screen resumes and applications and conduct phone, virtual, and in-person interviews.
- Evaluate candidates based on experience, skills, competencies, aptitude, and overall fit for the position.
- Partner with hiring managers throughout the recruiting and selection process.
- Build strong relationships with candidates and provide an engaging, professional candidate experience.
- Develop and maintain job descriptions, job specifications, and recruiting materials.
- Track and analyze recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, candidate pipeline activity, applicant conversion, hiring trends, and other key recruiting indicators.
- Use recruiting data to identify challenges, recommend solutions, and continuously improve recruiting results.
- Provide management with meaningful, well-documented recruiting reports and market insights.
- Assist managers through the hiring and onboarding process within our UKG HR/Payroll system.
- Serve as an ambassador for our organization and help promote our reputation as a great place to build a career.
What We're Looking For
- Proven recruiting experience, preferably within retail, multi-unit retail, sales, hospitality, or another high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated success with passive candidate sourcing and talent pipeline development.
- Someone who is comfortable picking up the phone, starting conversations, networking, and approaching potential candidates.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret recruiting metrics and turn data into actionable recommendations.
- Experience conducting structured, competency-based, phone, virtual, and in-person interviews.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems, HRIS/HRMS platforms, recruiting databases, and sourcing tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong judgment and decision-making ability.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple openings, priorities, and markets simultaneously.
- Outgoing, persistent, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership of recruiting needs from initial sourcing through hire.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally and periodically visit retail locations, malls, competitors, career events, and other recruiting sources.
Schedule
This position combines time in our Matteson Home Office with recruiting activities in the field and the flexibility of a hybrid work environment.
Compensation
$68,000-$73,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
Our full-time associates have access to a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
- Medical Insurance: Four health plan options, including prescription coverage.
- Dental & Vision: Two dental plan options and a vision plan.
- Additional Voluntary Benefits: Life, disability, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, pet insurance, and fitness discounts.
