Job summary

Brown University Health Pharmacy in Newport, RI is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Specialist, Retail to rotate across assignments under supervision of a pharmacist. You will assist with preparing, formulating and packaging medications and coordinate with the pharmacy team.

You must maintain Rhode Island licensure and may hold CPhT or pursue certification within 12 months. Strong customer service, data entry into pharmacy systems, and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; college preferred.
• Maintains current Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician licensure.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, formulating and packaging medications under supervision.
• Input and retrieve information in pharmacy systems for billing and dispensing.
• Interact professionally with patients, practitioners and staff to obtain accurate info.
• Support inventory, purchasing, and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to compliance and Code of Conduct.
